Synopsis

Earl Vader is a cynical man who goes through life rejecting most things around him. He questions his purpose in life and anybody else's for that matter.  He finds most things to be distasteful, which drives him to the assumption that he should probably kill himself. A woman named Jane Hicks notices his desire to end his life through his body language and facial expressions. Jane confronts him about it and they begin an unorthodox "relationship" consisting of their likes and dislikes of the world. After Earl gains the trust of Jane, she takes him to a forgotten place in the woods. In the woods is this bridge. At first glance it is an ordinary bridge, yet what it can do is unbelievable. At the bottom of the bridge is a portal back to the top of the bridge. One thing Jane explains to him is that though they can loop back to the top anything else they drop down there wont reappear. Jane had two assumptions about the portal. One, if it is living it will always reappear and vice versa.  Her second assumption was that if you truly had no desire to live you would fall into the abyss of your eminent death. She assumes this through the research she has done through cases of people missing and their last siting was in the same woods. She called it the stress reliever. Through countless hours together Earl would vent to Jane about all his problems and the reasoning of why living isn't important. Through the venting and company of Jane he finally finds his reason of living and what it means to live. What he didn't understand is that every word given to Jane had a reverse effect and brought back bad memories of her past. Through his rehabilitation made her want death more which see proceeds to jump off the bridge and never be seen again. He tries to talk her down but she wants him to jump with her. A debate of life occurs but it isn't enough to bring her back off the ledge. He is sad yet he understood through his selfish acts of only listening to himself caused this. He now has two choices, walk towards the ledge and end his life or try to listen to others and their problem to help them cope.
